Description
PRODUCTION AREA
The vineyards are located in the heart of Mandrolisai, a hilly area about 550 meters above sea level in the territory of Atzara on the western side of the Gennargentu mountain range.
TYPE OF SOIL
Soil deriving from granite decay, with a medium texture tending to sandy.
GRAPE VARIETY
Mandrolisai D.O.C. : it is a territorial DOC composed of the following vines: Bovale Sardo (Muristellu), Cannonau, Monica, other.
TRAINING SYSTEM
Vines trained in the sapling and espalier system.
PLANTING DENSITY
5000 vines/ha.
YIELD PER HECTARE
Average production per hectare around 60/70 quintals.
PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE
The grapes, harvested in October, are vinified together. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with a maceration of the skins for about 8/10 days. Processing in steel and maturation one part in 750 and 500 liter wooden barrels for about 10 months and one part steel.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
It is a ruby red wine, long bouquet with hints of berries and Mediterranean scrub. Savory on the palate, with balance and softness.
COMBINATIONS
It goes well with land cuisine, game and aged cheeses.
