The Pommard 1er Cru "Les Grands Epenots” wine has a dark red colour with intense aromas of blackcurrant. Taste dominated by astringency thanks to well-marked acidity and a mellowness that only appears after a minimum of maturation.
Food Pairings:
It goes well with fine red meats, game birds and dishes in red wine sauce, even slightly spicy ones. It's suitable for classic, strong cheeses.
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast, January 2012. "Ripe and fruity, this has tannins that are soft and rounded. It has structure and concentration, with ripe black-cherry fruit. It's surprisingly ready to drink for a Pommard, although the tannins demonstrate its ageability."
