Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855, perfectly balanced, the Grand Vin of Château Lagrange reflects the ultimate harmony of the three grape varieties of the estate with a strong predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Petit Verdot. Made from the oldest vines of the estate and aged for 21 months in barrels, half of which are new, it has the concentration and ageing potential of a great wine. Already powerful and dazzling in its youth, its slow and serene evolution gives it a delicacy that is expressed in the precision of its notes.
94 Points - Wine Enthusiast, January 2012. "Ripe wine, with soft tannins allied to great density. Weight and lovely, juicy, final fruit flavors meld together easily. This is solid, dense, impressive and for long-term aging."
93 Points - Falstaff, February 2020. "Intense ruby colour with purple hues, subtle brightening on the rim. Somewhat restrained, red cherries, berry confit, a hint of citrus zest. Medium complexity, with a refined fruit sweetness, in a charming style, refined tannins, a nice balance on the finish, already drinking well, versatile."
93 Points - The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve, December 2022. "A nice juicy mouthful of sweet, ripe, round textured cassis, made even better by all the cedar, spice, espresso, flowers, and blackberries. Full-bodied, with soft, ripe tannins, and plenty of fruit in the mid-palate and finish, this has upped its game over the past few years. Drink from 2023-2045."
