2019 vintage is in line with the top vintages of the decade. After a nice winter, spring came slowly, where our famous wind “Mistral” helped keep very healthy environments in the vineyard during that important growing season.
Grape Varietals:
Blend of the 13 grape varieties of the appellation, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccarèse, Terret noir, Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Picardan
Tasting Notes:
Domaine de Beaurenard’s flagship wine is a quintessential blend, reflecting all the diversity of the terroir and the perfect synergy that exists between the soils and the grapes. It offers a supple and refined texture associated with a delicate aromatic palette that is the result of a constant quest for freshness.
Food Pairing:
Leg of lamb with ceps.
94 Points - Falstaff, January 2022. "Dark ruby, purple reflections, faint ochre brightening on the rim. Ripe plums, blackberry confit, fine herbal spice, some nougat and candied orange zest. Juicy, elegant, fine fruit expression, ripe cherries, silky tannins, mineral-salty edge, good balance, a multi-faceted food wine."
93 Points - Wine Spectator, December 2021.
92 Points - The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve, January 2022. "Touches of smoked herbs, dark cherry and spice greet your nose. The wine is loaded with ripe, dark, red fruits, chewy tannins and voluptuous textures, finishing with a blast of sweet, rounded berries. While dominated by Grenache, the wine includes various percentages of most if not all of the AOC allowable grapes. Drink from 2022 - 2033."
