Description

100% Chardonnay.

The Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation is shared by the two villages Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses in the Northern part of the CΓ΄te de Beaune. The village of Aloxe-Corton has the rare ability of having over half of its area covered by Grand Cru vineyards. The exposure ranges from east to south and southwest.

This vineyard is one of the oldest owned by Louis Jadot since the XIXth century. It is located in the very heart of the appellation (next to the Corton Pougets) which then expanded after 1966. Originally, it was the only place to be allowed to bear the Corton-Charlemagne apellation. This vineyard is ideally South oriented.

Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by our cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.

Pairings:

Mixed salads, soja salad, vegetable tempura, seafood , sushis, nems, cheviche, salmon tartar, vegetarian cuisine : vegetable tart, fennel, zucchini fritters, vegetable gratin, wok noodles, vegan burger, fish & chips, chicken yakitori, escargots, oeuf en meurette, frog legs with parsley, goat cheese.
