Vineyard Notes:
the vineyard “Colonnello” is about 40-45 years old and, to maintain it, the vines are replanted from time to time. The main variety of Nebbiolo is Michet and its rootstock is 420 A
Grape Varietals:
Nebbiolo, Michet and Lampia varieties
Tasting Notes:
Extremely fascinating on the nose alternating notes of strawberries, red prunes, lavender, hibiscus, karkadè, linden blossom, lime peel and passionfruit. In the background herbaceous hints colour the matrix green. Full bodied, perfectly polymerized tannins and a warm, enveloping finale which shows volume and tension, extending in the best possible manner, leaving a great gustatory persistency.

93 Points - vvWine.ch, Adrian Van Velsen, September 2016. "Dense ruby, beautiful shine. The nose is deep, smoky and floral at the same time, clearly violets, fewer roses than the 2006, the wine also seems darker fruity, shows more black cherries than the ripe 2006, is not yet immediately accessible, but has a very good complexity. On the palate a straightforward start, there is a very nice fruit, many dark berries alternate with sour cherries and spicy notes, the structure is impressive, there are more distinctive tannins than in the 2006, plus the very juicy acidity, also here no alcohol overhang, a lot of freshness and a wonderful length in the finish, ends slightly malty. A somewhat atypical wine for Colonnello, as it is denser, stronger, more structured and with a little less feminine finesse, but this is criticism at a high level. 2018 to 2030."

17/20 Points - Vinum Wine Magazine, November 2012. "Beguiling flower of wild berries, herbs and black pepper; pithy texture with robust construction, rich in extract and full-bodied, the overall impression is coherent and clear and balanced and yet also full of character. Superb Barolo, which is always one of our favourites."
