The Les Chenevottes vineyard is situated at the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet, bordering the vineyards of Saint-Aubin. It is positioned directly below the premier cru sites of Les Chaumées and Les Vergers. The vineyards have an eastern exposition, and the chalk content in the calcareous clay soils here is much less than in the higher slopes. The heavier clay content that is present lends a spicy, powerful character to the wines. The average age of the vines, which are trained in the Single Guyot method, is approximately 45 years, with some ranging up to 80 years old. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, following la lutte raisonnée (the practice of using less chemicals, less often, less aggressively than conventional growers), with rigorous plowing and minimal use of chemical sprays
