Hailing from 2 vineyard sites in the renowned Alexander Valley, vines between 10 and 15 years old. Fermented in steel, aged in oak. This Cabernet-dominated red has lush dark berry fruits with smooth, beautifully integrated tannins. Heady aromas of black cherry, cassis, ripe plums are nicely balanced with hints of spice and a long silky finish.
Varietal Blend:
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Malbec
Tasting Notes:
This medium bodied Cabernet – driven blend has lush dark berry fruits with smooth, beautifully integrated tannins. Heady aromas of black cherry, cassis, ripe plums, with faint notes of vanilla and cocoa are nicely balanced with hints of spice and a long silky finish.
Viticulture:
Sourced from two vineyards in Alexander Valley, with vines between 1015 years old. Vines are planted in a major mixture of mostly rocky and loam soils. 2021 harvest began in late September, and the vintage brought the 2nd year of drought conditions resulting in low yields, with small but intensely flavored berries. After picking, the grapes were cold soaked for 4 days followed by a 7-day fermentation with cultured yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then transferred to 60 gallon oak barrels (75% French Oak and 25% Radoux American Oak) for aging before bottling at the end of November 2022.
