Pinot Noir has a very long tradition in Oltrepò Pavese, having been imported from France around 1850. Today, with its 3,000 hectares of Pinot Noir, the Oltrepò Pavese is the first Italian producer of this noble grape variety. Both clones suitable for white winemaking and those suitable for red winemaking are grown. The Oltrepò Pavese is crossed by the 45th parallel, the famous "parallel of wine" that runs through some of the most suitable areas for viticulture, such as the Willamette Valley in Oregon, where some of the most famous Pinot Noirs in the world are produced today.
Tasting Notes:
Ruby red color with orange edge. Notes of small red fruits and spices, with tertiary hints of leather. It shows good structure and remarkable elegance.
Food Pairings:
Excellent with roasts, game and aged goat cheeses.
