Among the historical vineyards of Barolo, Bricco delle Viole is the highest and the closest to the Alps. It rises from 400 to 480 meters above the sea level, on the Western ridge of the village. Its name, “Hill of Violets”, originates by the flowers that here blossom early due to the perfect south exposure. Up above the fogs, Bricco delle Viole enjoys the earliest sunrise and the last sunset every day. Thanks to its vines dating back to 1949, a dramatic diuturnal temperature range and this pure light, Bricco delle Viole generates a sophisticated and profound Barolo DOCG of bright aromatics, chiselled tannins and subtle minerality.

Tasting Notes:
Perfumes are lifted and red berries dominate the nose together with gentle scents of violet petal and rose bud. Palate is translucent and full of energy, with very refined tannins and outstanding purity.
93 Points - Wine Spectator, "Complex and alluring, this offers aromas of mint, cherry and spice, with a vegetal note. On the palate, this is sweet, intense and persistent, accented by licorice and tobacco details. Firm and tight, with appealing harmony and length. Best from 2017 through 2032. 1,176 cases made."

92 Points - Falstaff, November 2013. "Rich ruby with garnet shimmer. Opens on the nose with mineral-earthy notes, some plum and liquorice. Densely meshed, very well integrated tannins on the palate, grippy, opens in a straight line, still somewhat closed in the finish, good potential."
