19/20 Points - Jancis Robinson, "This wine was aged for a full 70 months(!) and not bottled until February 2016 and was then given six months in bottle. Transparent ruby and so fresh it tastes like health juice. Dry but not drying with a hint of chamomile. Clean as whistle. The taster feels as though they are floating on air when tasting this ethereal wine. Just 8,000 bottles filled, from the botte saved from vandalism. From the 2006 vintage onwards these wines have had '100% Sangiovese' on the label."

94 Points - Tom Cannavan, January 2019. "This wine spent 70 months in barrel, and is 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Fabulous blood-streaked nose, chestnut and game, spices and just very soulful. Smooth as silk on the palate there are notes of leather and tobacco, beautifully ripe and creamy sweet fruit, the tang of cherry, but it's the direct focus and purity, a touch of orangey juiciness. From quite a difficult vintage according to Mauro. Offered in bond in cases of six, price quoted is per bottle, duty paid, equivalent."
