The wine is produced from vineyards located between 100 and 200 meters above sea level, whose soil is characterized by quartz sandstone and white clays mixed with marly limestone flysch. Viticultre, based on methods and principles that are totally respectful of the environment, allows a spontaneous production baland with low yields per hectare. The grapes are harvested by hanf and carefully selected from vineyards with an average of 25 years, among the oldest in the appellation. Fermentation took place in open oak vats, with gentle and repeated manual punching down, allowing long macerations and a slow release of only noble tannins. The wine has been aged for 18 months in barriques and bottled in October 2018.
Grape Varietals:
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Sangiovese
Color:
Bright ruby red
98 Points - Falstaff, September 2019. "Shining, intense ruby red with fine shimmer. Opens with notes of tobacco and generous blueberry and blackberry fruit with cinnamon in the background. Multi-layered and glides over the palate like velvet with fine-meshed tannin and a lot of dark fruit. Completely mouth-filling with a long finish."
96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2020.
95 Points - Wine Spectator, August 2019.
95 Points - WinesCritic.com, Raffaele Vecchione, January 2020. "Hints of black plums, blackberries, roasted meat and coffee beans. The body is full, the profile is compact and the finish is long and balanced. Better from 2022."
95 Points - Wine & Spirits Magazine, August 2019.
17.5/20 Points - Vinum Wine Magazine, November 2019. "Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese in the blend: Exquisite notes of cassis, raspberries and violets; supple build with close-meshed tannins, lots of melting, juice and length. Excellent with a roast veal kidney with mushrooms."
