This family-owned winery was founded in 1972 and is made up of over 700 hectares on the coast of Tuscany. They operate as a co-op that benefits 170 different families, they are practicing organic, and also pride themselves on their sustainable practices. The island itself is made up sandy and stony soils, creating a pleasant chalkiness in the wine. This red is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Alicante with soft tannins and notes of tart cherry and touch of smoke, which pairs well with pulled pork or a mushroom risotto dish.
