The Brunello Riserva is a result of careful selections of the Pianrosso grape in the vineyards followed by a long maceration in our wine cellars.
Grape Varietals:
100% Sangiovese
Tasting Notes:
The bouquet is intense and complex: fruit-forward, spicy and ethereal, with hints of red berries and various spices. Warm, harmonic with pronounced and soft tannins. A fullbodied wine with a very long aftertaste. A Brunello that can be refined in the bottle for many years.
Colour:
Ruby red verging on garnet
Food pairings:
Excellent with roasted and game meat. Enjoyable with mature cheeses or as a meditation wine.
98 Points - Wine Spectator, June 2022.
98 Points - Falstaff, October 2022. "Bright, rich garnet. Very clear and intense nose, full of ripe raspberry, preserved cherry and some liquorice in the background. Lots of ripe fruit on the palate, shows grippy tannins, firm drive on the finish, long aftertaste of plums."
97 Points - Robert Parker The Wine Advocate, February 2022.
97 Points - WinesCritic.com, Raffaele Vecchione, October 2021. "Extremely brilliant on the nose showing mixed floral and fruity scents reminiscent of hibiscus, agapanthus, marjoram, origano and wilted linden. The red prunes blend with hints of strawberry and cut cedar and dominate the secondary scene. Full bodied, extemely smooth tannins of a rare silky quality and a harmonic, balanced finale, beautiful in every sip. Better from 2022."
95 Points - Wine Enthusiast, Kerin O'Keefe, April 2022. "Underbrush, scorched earth, camphor and pipe tobacco aromas shape the nose. Full-bodied and densely concentrated, the firm, muscular palate features dried cherry, licorice and marinated prune framed in tightly woven, close-grained tannins. You'll also notice the warmth of alcohol on the close. Drink 2026–2031."
