Tenuta Nuova was born from an innovative vineyard project planted in an area south-east of Montalcino never experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and aging potential. The soil, the microclimate and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surround the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional terroir of Tenuta Nuova.

Tasting Notes:
With an intense and bright ruby red color, the 2019 Tenuta Nuova shows notes of wild violet, eucalyptus and red currant. On the palate the tannins are round and balanced, perfectly ripe and pleasant. He shows incredible rigor and definition, characteristics that make him appreciated already now but that give a glimpse of a great future for this year.
Vintage Notes:
The winter was characterized by mild temperatures with rainfall in the average with previous years. A stable and sunny March and April was followed by a singular May with very low temperatures and abundant rainfall. All these factors contributed to delaying flowering and fruit set by a few days. June and July were hot and dry with high peaks that made it possible to make up for the initial vegetative delay. The abundant spring water reserves and the warm and stable August allowed a regular ripening trend of the grapes.

With 30 months of aging in tonneaux, it shows enormous richness and texture, and the stellar fruit quality appears with more primary elegance compared to the more expensive Cerretalto that is released with an extra year of aging. That dynamic is especially pronounced in a comparison of the 2019 and 2018 vintages. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova has a dark vein of toasted spice, black fruit, ink, blackberry compote, licorice and star anise. Dark as night, it is exceptionally well crafted with a robust delivery of concentrated fruit and solid tannic structure. You can count on excellent cellar potential, or at a minimum, serve it with a classic steak. Production is exactly 69,696 bottles."

Offering a deeply layered bouquet of kirsch, dark chocolate, crushed rosemary, and lavender oils, on the palate it’s rich with flavors of blood orange oils, velvety tannins, warming spice, and a long finish that soars above and beyond, with saline accents taking it to the next level. The bouquet in incredible and keeps going for ages. It spent 36 months in 500-liter used barrels Drink 2026-2046."

More linear than square, with a steely line of acidity and tannins for support. Though balanced, this is compact for now, with fine length.
